New 2015 Hyundai i20 premium hatchback

Hyundai India is all set to launch the new generation i20 hatchback which is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The vehicle has been spotted several times during its test rounds on the Indian roads. The new hatchback looks more appealing and gets changes to both exteriors as well as interiors.

The new generation Hyundai i20 shares its design language with the Grand i10 and the Xcent compact sedan. The hatchback features low mounted grille which is the most noticeable change given to car, flanked by the sweptback headlamps. Its new bonnet gets two striking lines visually flows to meet A-pillars, giving a V-shaped bonnet design. The sweptback headlamps gets metal inserts, while the matte black strip is positioned below the grille looks appealing. Its licensing plate enclosure is positioned right at the centre of the airdam.

The small and steeply angles C pillar gives it a sloping roof, while the rising shoulder line add to its sporty character.  At the back, the new i20 gets elongated wrap around tail lights which makes it look upmarket and gives it a European taste.

The new Hyundai i20 gets a longer wheelbase which in return offers a more comfortable and spacious interior. It is likely to go on sale in the Indian market in September, prior to its global debut at Paris Motor Show. Under the hood, the vehicle is likely to get the same 89bhp, 1.4-litre diesel engine and 83bhp, 1.2-litre petrol Kappa engine. Instead of four-speed automatic gearbox, this model will get a five-speed automatic transmission.
