The new generation model sports an all-new front fascia with a split grille; DRLs (day time running lights) are positioned above the fog lamps, newly designed headlamps with HID projectors and a new big bumper with a wide air dam. Also visible are the two creases on the hood and two sharp lines which flow & merge towards the A-pillar. The new Chevrolet Cruze is expected to get two new engines- a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.5-litre engine is capable of developing a top power output of 112bhp and 146Nm of top torque, which can be coupled to either five-speed or a six-speed auto gearbox. The turbocharged engine will develop 148bhp of power and 235Nm of top torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The India-bound Chevrolet Cruze will carry over the same 2.0-litre diesel unit that produces 163bhp. India is also expected to get the petrol unit. The exact launch date is yet to be announced, but we expect it to be launched by 2015 in the market.
