Volkswagen India will launch the 2014 Polo facelift in the country on July 15. The company will also launch the updated GT range in August. Bookings for the new Polo have already commenced at a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The refreshed Polo with new 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI engine has been caught on lens.
This new 1.5-litre TDI engine is capable of developing two state of tunes- 90PS and 105PS. The standard models will get the 90PS engine, while the powerful 105PS, 1.5L TDI engine will be reserved for GT TDI variant. These spyshots also reveal that the diesel avatar of the new Polo will be paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The new 2014 Volkswagen Polo will be offered in three trim levels- Comfortline, Highline and Highline+ in both petrol and diesel guise. Interestingly, the company has removed the base Trendline trim. It has been around 3 month since the dealers have stopped taking bookings for the Trendline variant.
The updated Polo gets changes to both inside and out. On the exteriors, the hatchback features a newly designed front bumper, wide air-dam with a thick chrome strip, grille with a single chrome strip instead of three in the current model and new smoked headlamps with silver detailing. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel with controls mounted on it, dual-tone theme on the dashboard, silver finish on the centre console and a new shade for the multi-information display.
