If you are planning to buy a three-row SUV, you can wait for three new models which are ready to hit roads before the end of 2022. The lineup includes the updated MG Hector Plus, Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus and 5-door Force Gurkha. Here’re some key details of the upcoming 7-seater SUVs.
Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs in India
MG Hector Plus Facelift
MG Motor India will roll out the Hector facelift towards the end of this year. The Hector Plus 7-seater SUV will receive a mid-life update with its 5-seater sibling. A few noticeable cosmetic changes will be made to the SUV. The updated version will be offered with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) with safety features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. There will also be a new 14-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with the Next-Gen i-Smart technology and wireless smartphone connectivity and new graphics for digital instrument cluster. The 2022 MG Hector Plus facelift will use the same 1.5L petrol, 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid tech and 2.0L diesel engine options. More details here…
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, which is essentially the 7-seater version of the Bolero Neo, will go on sale before the end of 2022. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced. The SUV will derive its power from the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine that does duty in the Thar. Though, the company might detune it for the Bolero Neo Plus. It can be had with a manual or an automatic gearbox. The SUV model lineup will come P4 and P10 trims and 7 and 9-seats configurations. Mahindra will also introduce an ambulance variant featuring 4-seaats and a patient bed. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4400mm, 1795mm and 1812mm respectively. 5-Door Force Gurkha
Force Motors has already started dispatching the 5-door version of the Gurkha SUV across its dealerships. Its prices are yet to be announced. Reports suggest that the 5-door Force Gurkha will be made available with four seating layouts – 6,7,9 and 13. The SUV’s 7-seater version will have bench-type seats in the middle row and captain seats in the third row. Its wheelbase will be longer than its 3-door sibling, ensuring more cabin space. The off-road SUV will be assembled with 18-inch alloy wheels with 255/60 R18 size tyres. Though, it could be reserved for the higher trims. Under the hood, the 5-door Gurkha will feature the 2.6L turbo diesel engine making 91bhp and 250Nm.
