Skoda Vision IN SUV (Kia Seltos Rival) to Unveil on February 3, 2020
Czech automaker, Skoda has confirmed that the Vision IN SUV concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. According to ACI, the Vision IN concept will be unveiled on February 3, ahead of its public premiere at the 2020 Auto Expo on February 7, 2020. The company has already teased the sketches of the all-new SUV.
The upcoming Skoda mid-sized SUV will be based on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform, which will be used to develop a wide range of India-specific products from Volkswagen and Skoda. The concept is reportedly measures 4.26m in length, and is expected to feature a wheelbase of 2,651mm. The wheelbase is longer than the European-spec model.
Inside the cabin, the Skoda Vision IN will feature a simplistic and clutter free dashboard. It features a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, which obviously compatible with modern smartphone connectivity features. The cabin also has a Virtual Cockpit (digital instrument console), a flat-bottom steering wheel with controls for audio and Bluetooth telephony, a small gear selector in the central console, etc.
The Skoda Vision IN concept is likely to be offered with 2 petrol engines – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol. The SUV won’t be offered with diesel engine option; however, Skoda could introduce the CNG version of the SUV.
The Skoda Vision IN concept based SUV is likely to share design cues from the Kamiq SUV. The production-spec model is expected to be launched in the first half of 2021. Upon its launch, the SUV will challenge the likes of the new Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and the entry-level variants of the MG Hector and the Tata Harrier.
