Skoda Vision IN SUV Interior Sketch Revealed; Debut At 2020 Auto Expo
Skoda Auto today released the first interior sketch of the its upcoming compact SUV that will put up against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The vehicle will make its India debut as Skoda Vision IN concept at the 2020 Auto Expo and its launch will happen in the second quarter of 2021.
Measuring 4.26 metre in length, the new Skoda compact SUV will be the first product to roll out under the Skod Auto India’s 2.0 project. The company says that the production version of the Skoda Vision IN concept will developed specifically for the Indian market. It’s likely to be based on the Skoda Kamiq SUV that’s currently on sale in several global markets.
The Skoda Vision IN SUV underpins the all-new MQB A0 IN modular transverse matrix platform that has been designed and developed to meet the requirements of the Indian market. The SUV also has a virtual cockpit with a new crystalline element on the instrument panel creating an optical highlight. There is a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with buttons and knurl wheels in line with Skoda’s new operating concept. The centre console has a small control lever for gear selection.
While the specifications of the Skoda Vision IN SUV are still under the wraps, it’s reported to come with three engine options – 1.0L turbo petrol (95bhp with 175Nm/115bhp with 200 Nm), 1.5L TSI petrol (150bhp/250Nm) and 1.6L TDI diesel (115bhp/250Nm). Transmission choices might include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DTC automatic.
