Skoda Vision IN (Hyundai Creta Rival) To Unveil In January-March 2021

We informed you earlier that Skoda will launch the Vision IN concept based mid-sized SUV in the second quarter of 2021. A new media report claims that the production version of the Skoda Vision IN will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2021 – between January and March.

For people not in the know, Skoda Vision IN concept was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. This SUV will be launched before the Volkswagen Taigun, which was also unveiled as a pre-production concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The production version of the Vision IN SUV is rumoured to be called the Skoda Kosmiq. It will directly rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster. Skoda Vision IN Design

It will be the first model to be based on the locally-developed MQB AO-IN platform. The concept had 19-inch alloys; however, the production version will have 17-inch alloys. In terms of proportions, the new Vision IN is 4,256mm in length, 1,589mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,671mm.

The Vision In based SUV is expected to share most of the design elements with the Kamiq sold abroad; however, it will receive India-specific changes. Some of the design highlights include signature chrome-embellished Skoda grille, split projector headlamps, three-slot skid plate, prominent roof rails, large alloys, crystal-like LED tail-lights, etc. In terms of features, the SUV will have a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, LED ambient lights, connected car technologies, etc.

Skoda Kosmiq Vision IN Interior

The Skoda Vision IN based SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The vehicle will also get a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 175Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
