Skoda Rapid Onyx edition receives a few enhancements inside and out over the standard model.

Skoda Auto India has introduced a special edition of the Rapid sedan – the Skoda Rapid Onyx. Priced at Rs 9.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the sedan’s limited edition receives a few enhancements inside and out over the standard model. The Rapid Onyx edition is made available in two colour schemes – the new Lapiz Blue and Candy White.

On the outside, the Skoda Rapid Onyx edition features a new pair of glossy black 16-inch Clubber alloy wheels with similar bolt caps, black body side molding, black ORVMs and black trunk lip garnish. Interior of the new edition has also been revised. The Skoda Rapid Onyx edition has dual-tone Ebony-Sand interior theme with premium perforated beige with wood design leatherette upholstery. Features such as SuperSport flat bottom steering wheel with black stitching, rear windscreen sunblind, scuff plates with RAPID inscription, black waste bin and 12 V power socket in front and rear console add more to its comfort level. Engine setup of the Skoda Rapid Onyx edition includes a 1.6-litre, 16V petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The petrol model delivers a peak power of 103.53bhp at 5250rpm and 153Nm of torque between 3750rpm-3800rpm. The oil burner, on the other hand, returns a claimed power of 108.4bhp at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500rpm-2500rpm. The new edition comes with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
