The Czech automaker, Skoda will launch the Rapid facelift in the Indian car market on September 25. The updated saloon is expected to get changes to both exteriors and interiors. Moreover, this saloon also features new diesel engine that also powers the Vento and Polo.
The exteriors of the Skoda Rapid will get black inserts for the headlamps with projector unit, black surrounds for the front grille and blackened outside rear view mirrors. Adding to it, the updated saloon gets black roof and fog lamps. The flared wheel arches of the saloon have been fitted to 16-inch Skoda Comet alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Rapid facelift expected to get subtle changes. It is likely to feature steering, central console, instrument panel, seat fabrics, etc.
The Skoda Rapid facelift will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that is capable of producing two states of tune- 90PS/220Nm with a manual transmission and 105PS/250Nm coupled to a DSG gearbox. The vehicle would also get a 1.2-litre TSI motor producing 103bhp of power.
Skoda is also working on a highly localized version of the Rapid, which is reportedly to be launched in 2016. The vehicle would get several changes to both exteriors and interiors, and is likely to be priced competitive in the market.
