Skoda Octavia RS Bookings Reopen; Deliveries To Begin This Festive Season

The Skoda Octavia RS is around Rs 10.79 lakh pricier than the regular model.

Launched in September 2017, the Skoda Octavia RS was an instant success. And the proof of its popularity lies in the fact that the first batch of the performance sedan was sold out within a few weeks of its arrival. In the first lot, only 250 units of the vehicle were allotted for the Indian market. Now, the company has recommenced bookings for the Octavia RS and deliveries will begin during 2018 festive season.

The Skoda Octavia RS was introduced at Rs 24.62 lakh, and currently it’s available at Rs 26.78 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Power for the Skoda Octavia RS comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 230bhp and 350Nm of torque. The gasoline unit is paired to a 6-speed DSG (direct-shift gearbox) dual-clutch multiple-shaft unit. Features such as a trick front differential, stiffer suspension and lowered ride height add more to its performance and handling. On the exterior, the Skoda Octavia RS gets multiple upgrades over the standard model. The aesthetic changes are subtle yet effective such as blacked-out butterfly grille with chrome inserts and vRS badging, revised front and rear bumpers, massive three-piece air intake with horizontal LED fog lamps and larger 19-inch alloy wheels. Sporty characters continue inside the cabin. The performance sedan features a multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and driver assist system, black leather/fabric combination seats with contrast stitching and several other features. It also gets nine airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) and park assist.
