Skoda had announced its plans for the Indian market that include 4 new products – the flagship Kodiaq SUV, Rapid Monte Carlo Edition, Octavia RS and Octavia Black Edition. Out of the four upcoming models, the Skoda Octavia Black Edition and Rapid Monte Carlo Edition are named under the ‘Action Models’ range. The Czech Republic carmaker is now planning to begin with the launch of the 2017 Skoda Octavia Black Edition.
The company has teased the Octavia’s limited edition on its official website. To be available on the top-spec Style Plus variant, the 2017 Skoda Octavia Black Edition will receive multiple cosmetic upgrades along with new interior appointments. Painted in black shade, this special edition will certainly have more premium and sportier appeal than the regular model. Features such as sunset privacy glass, 18-inch ‘Turini’ black alloy wheels and rectangular shaped fog lamps will reinforce its sporty character even more prominently. The cabin of this special edition brims with several goodies including an Amundsen satellite navigation system, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors and rain sensors. The 2017 Skoda Octavia Black Edition will also be equipped with an automatic parking assistant system. Other key features will include Intelligent Light Assistant, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, special floor mats, high beam control system, etc.
Since it will be just a special edition, no mechanical updates will be made to the car. The 2017 Skoda Octavia Black Edition (Style Plus) will come with the same engines – 1.8-litre TSI petrol and 2.0 litre TDI diesel – producing 177.5bhp with 250Nm and 141bhp with 320Nm respectively. Mileage figures of the Skoda Octavia stand at 16.8kmpl (1.4L TSI), 14.7kmpl (1.8 TSI) and 20.6kmpl (2.0L TDI).
