Skoda had launched the Kushaq mid-sized SUV on June 28, 2021. The SUV is available in three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style – and two turbocharged petrol engines. It is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh. The SUV is offered with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Skoda has received over 10,000 bookings for the new Kushaq mid-sized SUV in less than 3 months. The company aims to sell around 3000 units of the SUV per month, which is very much achievable with the kind of bookings Kushaq has received.
The Skoda Kushaq 1.5L is only offered in the Style trim with manual and DSG automatic gearbox option. The company has now officially announced to launch the Kushaq mid-sized SUV with 6 airbags on the 1.5L TSI and DSG automatic gearbox. This news is confirmed by Zac Hollis, Sales & Marking Director, Skoda Auto India.
Adding to it, this variant will also get TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) as standard. This feature is currently offered as an optional. It is also speculated that Skoda could also offer six airbags and TPMS on the top-spec Kushaq 1.0 Style automatic variant. However, Skoda is yet to make an official announcement on the same.
The smaller capacity 1.0L gasoline motor is capable of producing 115bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
