Skoda Kushaq, the mid-size SUV from the Czech automaker, has received a new special edition in India. Called the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition, the model has been positioned between Active and Ambition Classic trims. Its prices start from Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom), thus making it around Rs 80,000 more expensive than the base Active trim.
The SUV’s new edition has the signature front grille with a chrome surround and a new faux diffuser element. It comes with differently designed 16-inch steel wheels, bold body graphics on the doors and an ‘Onyx’ badging on B-pillars. It also gets LED projector headlamps, fog lamps, wheel covers, roof rails, rear washer & wiper and rear defogger.
Inside, the new Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition features Onyx design perforated leatherette seats with fabric inserts and Onyx inscribed front scuff plates. It offers climatronic auto AC with control touch pane and air care function.
The list of features also includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control system, steering mounted controls, rear AC vents, electronic differential lock system, Isofix child seat mounts, brake disc wiping, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD and remote locking system.
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition is being offered with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine and a manual gearbox. The motor pushes out a claimed power of 115bhp and 175Nm of torque. It can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 11.47 seconds in manual and 13.16 seconds in automatic form.
The SUV model lineup is also available with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder TSI petrol unit, making power worth 150bhp and 250Nm of torque. The entry-level Active trim comes with a 1.0L TSI engine and the top-end Style trim can be had with both motors. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup. A 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DSG transmission are optional with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI variants.
