Skoda Kodiaq RS To Debut In October, 2018 – Report

Skoda Kodiaq vRS is reported to debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, 2018.

The Czech Republic car manufacturer, Skoda will soon introduce the high-performance version of its 7-seater SUV Kodiaq. Called the Skoda Kodiaq vRS, the performance model is reported to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, 2018. Besides the Kodiaq vRS, the carmaker is also planning to develop a vRS version of the Superb sedan.

Globally, the Skoda Kodiaq is available with both five and seven seats layouts. Report suggests that the performance-oriented vRS model will be offered with both the seating configurations. The production version of the SUV will hit roads in the second half of 2018.

Engine setup of the Skoda Kodiaq RS will include a 2.0-litre petrol and a diesel unit. While the official figures and details are yet to be revealed by the carmaker, it will be exclusively offered with the AWD (all-wheel-drive) system along with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Rumour also has it that Skoda might retune the Volkswagen Golf’s 310PS, 2.0-litre petrol engine for the Kodiaq RS. Read: Skoda Kodiaq Vs Toyota Fortuner 

The performance SUV is likely to sit on a lower chassis, and have stiffer suspension system. Both the attributes will aid to its overall drivability and handling. As far as design is concerned, the Skoda Kodiaq RS appears more aggressive and sportier than the standard model. It receives minor styling upgrades over the regular Kodiaq including the larger lower air intake, black upper grille frame, sportier bumpers, honeycomb air inlets, RS badge on the upper grille and tailgate, contrasting mirror, newly-designed 20-21-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers and dual stainless steel exhaust pipes. Read: Skoda Kodiaq Vs Ford Endeavour 

Skoda Kodiaq RS might come with sporty black interior theme. Features such as aluminum finish pedals, sports seats, seat covers and RS badge on the door sills will also be on offer.  Talking about the pricing, the new performance-oriented model of the SUV could be around Rs 5 lakh costlier than the regular model. It might come with a price tag of Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
