Skoda Kliq (Vision IN) To Challenge Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta

Skoda Kliq SUV

Skoda Auto has filed a patent application for brand name ‘Kliq’ to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The new nameplate might be used for the production-ready version of the Skoda Vision IN concept that made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. Interestingly, it will be the first model to be developed on the brand’s new India-specific MQB A0 IN platform. The Skoda Vision IN (Skoda Kliq) previews the brand’s challenger to the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.

The fascia shares resemblance to the Skoda Kamiq that’s sold in global market. Though, the Vision IN carries bolder and a more upright nose. It also features the signature chrome-embellished grille, angular bumper with large air intakes, split projector headlamps and a three-slot skid plate. Design bits such as large 19-inch alloy wheels, prominent roof rails and plastic cladding all around the body enhance its side profile.

Skoda Vision IN Features

At the rear, the Skoda Vision IN concept features crystal-like LED taillamps along with a three-slot skid plate and an additional light strip. The SUV measures 4.26m in length, which is roughly equal to the old Hyundai Creta. Interior of the concept has orange highlights on the parts of dashboard, centre console, door panels and front armrest. Read – Skoda Karoq SUV To Be Launched Digitally

Some of its key features include a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a ‘crystalline element’ on the dash, Virtual Cockpit digital instrumentation and a flat-bottom, three-spoke steering wheel with mounted control buttons. The production version of the Vision IN (Skoda Kliq) is likely to come with ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, USB charging ports at the rear and rear AC vents.

Skoda Vision IN SUV Unveiled

At the heart of the Skoda Vision IN (Skoda Kliq) will be a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The gasoline motor delivers power worth 150bhp against 250Nm of torque. It will be capable to do 0-100kmph in 8.7 seconds and offer a top speed of 195kmph. The SUV will be offered with front-wheel-drive (FWD) system.
