Skoda Karoq TVC Released Ahead of Official Launch
Skoda Karoq SUV is all set to hit showrooms in April, 2020. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000. Deliveries of the SUV will be commenced from 6th May that too on the priority basis. Ahead of its launch, the carmaker has released its commercial TVC revealing its key features including all LED headlamps, all LED rear lights and a panoramic sunroof.
Interior highlights include a virtual cockpit, LED ambient lighting, beige leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver seat and 9 airbags. There is a large infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link connectivity. The SUV also offers a digital instrument console, reverse camera, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, navigation, Bluetooth telephony and several other goodies.

Dimensionally, the Skoda Karoq SUV measures 4,382mm in length, 1,814mm in width and 1,605mm in height with a 2,638mm long wheelbase. The SUV has a ground clearance of 200mm and offers a boot space of 521-litres. Read – Skoda Vision IN SUV to Rival Hyundai Creta
One can extend its luggage area up to 1810-litres by folding the rear seats. The new Skoda SUV has been designed on Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform that has also been used in the Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq.
Under the hood, the Karoq features a 1.5L turbocharged petrol motor paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The gasoline motor produces a maximum power of 150PS against a peak torque of 250Nm. No diesel engine will be offered on the model lineup. While globally it’s made available with 4X4 drivetrain, the India-spec model is equipped with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system.
As mentioned above, the official prices will be announced next month. It’s estimated to cost between Rs 18 lakh – Rs 25 lakh. Here, the Skoda Karoq will be brought via CBU (completely built up) route.
