Skoda Karoq, New Rapid 1.0 TSI, BS6 Superb Online Bookings Open

Skoda India has started accepting online bookings for its three upcoming models, namely, all-new Karoq SUV, BS6 Rapid 1.0L TSI sedan and BS6 Superb facelift. Interested buyers will have to pay a sum of Rs 50,000 to pre-book any of these models. The carmaker has already confirmed that the Skoda Karoq will be launched digitally post lockdown, while the BS6 Skoda Rapid 1.0L TSI and BS6 Skoda Superb are likely to follow the same route.

Previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Skoda Karoq will be packed with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It delivers a maximum power of 150PS against a peak torque of 250Nm. In India, the Karoq will be offered with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. It accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 9 seconds and offers a maximum speed of 202kmph.

BS6 Skoda Rapid 1.0L TSI made its debut at the biennial event alongside the Rapid Matte concept and Rapid Monte Carlo Edition. The updated sedan uses a 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI turbocharged petrol engine that’s good enough for 110bhp. It will come in five variants – Active, Ambition, Style, Onyx and Monte Carlo – and multiple colour options – Candy White, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, Toffee Brown, Lapiz Blue and Flash Red.

The BS6 Skoda Superb facelift will be made available with 2.0L turbocharged petrol motor replacing the BS4 1.8L TSI petrol engine. The new BS6-compliant unit pushes out a peak power of 190bhp with 320Nm of torque.

Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Buyers will have 7 colours to choose from – Magnetic Brown, Race Blue, Lava Blue, Moon White, Magic Black, Steel Grey and Business Grey. The saloon will witness noticeable changes inside and out.
