Skoda has used the Volkswagen’s new MQB platform to manufacture the all-new Octavia, which is now wider, longer than the Laura. The all-new Octavia will replace the company’s flagship sedan Laura. The premium sedan has now more up-market interiors, and with MQB platform it now offers more comfort to both front and rear passengers.
The Czech automaker also considered advanced safety features for the new Octavia including nine airbags, automatic braking system, lane assistance and others. It also gets few more advanced features such as Adaptive cruise control, intelligent light assistance, traffic sign recognition are also added in the vehicle, which makes it an excellent product for buyers.
The new Skoda Octavia is expected to get the 1.8-litre petrol engine and the 2.0-litre diesel motor. It is also speculated that the company might also launch the base model of the Octavia powered by a 1.4-litre petrol mill. The same powertrain also powers the Volkswagen’s Jetta. We could get an option of both manual and automatic transmission in the new Octavia.
