King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan in an interview confirmed that the upcoming Hyundai small car (AH2) will be called the Hyundai Santro. Speaking to NDTV Car & Bike, ShahRukh revealed that he has a collection of Santros at his house. He added that the collection includes a first generation model, the Xing and ‘may even have the new Santro now’.
It is expected that the final name of the small car could have Santro with a suffix. Codenamed AH2, the upcoming Hyundai small car will go on sale in India on 23rd of October. Before launch, Hyundai will reveal the official name of the upcoming AH2 hatchback on October 9, 2018.
While the new Hyundai hatchback will retain the original tall-boy stance, it will feature an edgy design. The official sketch reveals the silhouette along with the flared wheel arches, muscular shoulder line, a slightly sloping roofline and a rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, the small hatch gets dual-tone black and beige scheme, a twin-pod instrument console, three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, a touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. If media reports are to be believed, the small car is likely to get a 1.1-litre petrol engine that churns out 65bhp of power. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
