Likely to be launched in November, the Mahindra Scorpio facelift will get a more powerful 140bhp, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine

India’s leading UV giant, Mahindra will launch a facelift version of its top-selling and one of the oldest models in the line-up, Scorpio sometime in November. Reports in media indicate that Mahindra will not only work on the aesthetics, but the 2.2-litre mHawk engine is also expected to get a power boost. That said, the oil burner is likely to offer 20bhp additional power and the torque output is likely to go up by 50Nm. With this, the total output will increase from current 120bhp to 140bhp and 280Nm to 330Nm respectively. Also Read – Upcoming Mahindra Cars In India

On the other hand, the 2.5-litre M2DICR turbo oil burner will continue offering 75bhp with 180Nm torque. While the mild hybrid system could be missing on both the engines, the 5-speed manual system could be retained, though there is yet no confirmation on the same. Similarly, it is yet not clear if the 6-pseed auto box will be included in the carline. While the ladder frame chassis will be retained, the Scorpio facelift will get a standard rear wheel drivetrain along with an optional four-wheel system.
