Royal Enfield To Launch 1 New Bike In Every 3 Months

Royal Enfield is planning to expand its product portfolio with at least 28 new models in the next 7 years. In order to strengthen its position in global and domestic markets, the company aims to launch one new motorcycle in every quarter (3 months). Speaking to ET Auto, Royal Enfield CEO, Vinod K Dasari, said, “We have now got a product plan for the next five to seven years. We are looking at launching a new model almost every quarter and I am not even talking variants and colour options kind of stuff…28 models at least (in the next seven years) that’s the bare minimum.”

In the next 6 to 12 months, Royal Enfield will set up an assembly plant in Thailand, followed by Brazil in near future. The company said to have “adequate production capacity” for the next couple of years. The Chennai-based bikemaker plans to make a huge investment to develop new products, technology, capability enhancement and global expansion.

Dasari has also revealed that the company is doing really well in the international markets in terms of sales. The RE Interceptor continues to be the top-selling motorcycle for the past one year in the UK. In India, the company said to have better booking levels than pre-Covid-19 level.

Recently, it launched the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 at Rs 1.76 lakh to challenge Honda H’ness CB350 and Jawa. The Meteor comes in three variants (Fireball, Stellar and Supernova) powered by a 349ccc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine and a 6-speed gearbox. The RE Meteor 350 is the company’s first production model to underpin the new ‘J’ platform that will also be used for the new-generation RE Classic 350.
