Royal Enfield Electric Bike Is Closer To Reality, 1st Image Out

Royal Enfield is working on electric two-wheelers, and first picture of its very first electric motorcycle concept has been leaked on the Internet. Internally called the ‘Electrik01’, the new EV bike comes with distinctive design elements.

The leaked picture shows the front suspension, which has a unique girder fork. The product brief for the new EV is full of terms like ‘non-conformist’, ‘game changer’ and ‘lone wolf’. It is expected that the production version of the motorcycle will be offered with the unusual girder fork setup.

The motorcycle will have neo vintage/classic styling and will have high quality tactile finishes and touch points. The girder fork was mostly used in the first half of the previous century, which also confirms that the bike will have a lot of retro feels. The motorcycle has classical round headlight, and a conventional ‘fuel tank’.

The motorcycle also has unique chassis, featuring two frame tubes emerging from either side of the headstock. The one frame tube runs along the top edge of the fuel tank, and the other tube runs downward and holding the battery pack. The motorcycle features alloy wheels which are wrapped in Avon Roadrider tyres.

The picture suggest that the production version of the Road Enfield electric motorcycle will arrive after some time. The motorcycle is very much in early phases of its development, as RE called the bike a QFD (Quality Function Development) concept. Royal Enfield has spent huge time road-testing before introducing the motorcycle in India. Going by the approach, the electric bike can take even longer development before going on sale in India.
