Royal Enfield Developing 450cc Cafe Racer

Royal Enfield is preparing a new range of motorcycles based on the 350cc and 650cc platforms. Adding to it, RE will also introduce a new 450cc platform which will underpin the new Himalayan 450. Not just new Himalayan, the company will launch 4 more bikes on the new 450cc platform. A Himalayan based new Scram 450 will also be introduced in our market.

Royal Enfield is also working on a new 450cc Cafe Racer, which will be based on the Scram 450 or a new 450cc Roadster. The official document reveals that the Cafe Racer will feature a bikini fairing and a rear seat cowl. Instead of wired spoke wheels, the motorcycle will feature alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres. The new Royal Enfield Cafe Racer will come with a clip-on style handlebar for sportier seating posture.

Upcoming Royal Enfield 450cc bikes

The new Royal Enfield Cafe Racer will be powered by a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which will also power the upcoming Himalayan 450 and the Scram 450. This engine is likely to produce around 40bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 45Nm. It is expected that the Cafe Racer’s engine will offer similar power and torque; however, the engine could be tuned to suit the need of a Cafe Racer. The motorcycle is likely to get upside-down front forks and rear mono-shock. The new Cafe Racer will receive disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

Royal Enfield will first launch the new Himalayan 450 in 2023. Before new adventure, the company will introduce the new Super Meteor 650 and the new-gen Bullet 350. RE is also working on a new 350cc Bobber based on the new Classic 350. Besides Super Meteor 650, the company is reportedly developing 5 more 650cc motorcycles for India as well as global markets.
