Royal Enfield has been working on multiple new bikes based on the 450cc and 650cc platforms. During investors meet, the bikemaker announced that it will bring in 5 new Royal Enfield 450cc bikes including the Himalayan 450cc. It will also introduce a single-seat 350cc bobber with more upright riding position, wire-spoke wheels and a long exhaust pipe. It will essentially be a new variant of the RE Classic 350cc. Interestingly, the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker is developing the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 that’s likely to share its engine with the RE 650cc twins.
The new Royal Enfield Bullet 650 will come equipped with the 648cc, air and oil-cooled parallel twin engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. The bike might have a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The new RE Bullet 650 is likely to carry the original stance and design language including the round retro-styled headlamp, spoke wheels, headlamp cap and a single piece seat.
In terms of pricing, the upcoming Royal Enfield Bullet 650 will surely be more expensive than its 350cc sibling. The latter is currently available in two variants – X Kick Start and X Electric Star – priced at Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1.66 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The RE Bullet 350 is the most affordable offering from the Chennai-based bikemaker in the country.
In other updates, Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the Super Meteor 650 that will come with the 47bhp, 648cc engine with bespoke mapping and gearing. It’s claimed to deliver 80 percent of peak torque at 2,500rpm. The bike will offer a ground clearance of 135mm and 15.7-litres of fuel tank. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 cruiser will have 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels with CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres.
