Rendered: New Tata 7-Seater MPV Has Altroz Inspired Design

Tata Motors has big plans for the Indian market. In coming years, the home-grown carmaker will launch multiple new models right from the HBX concept based mini SUV to a new SUV-Coupe and electric vehicles. One of them will be an all-new compact MPV that will be put up against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo. The new Tata MPV is likely to share its underpinnings with the Altroz premium hatchback – i.e. Alfa (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) modular platform.

While the new Tata MPV is rumoured to come sometime in 2022, here’s a digital rendering previewing a possible design. Based on the Altroz, the rendered MPV features Tata’s new-generation Impact 2.0 design language. Upfront, it carries thin, sweptback headlamps and wider radiator grille. The fog lamp assembly looks different from the Altroz.

Design bits such as black treatment on the ORVMs, black cladding around the window line and black roof rails further enhance its look. The MPV has an additional side pillar and longer rear section. It’s likely to sit on longer wheelbase to accommodate an extra row of seats. The alloy wheels with pronounced wheel arches seem to be carried over from the Altroz premium hatchback. As of now, interior details are not available. Though, it’s likely to share several features with its hatch sibling. Read – Big New Car Launches This Year – 4 Tata, 2 Mahindra SUVs

If reports are to be believed, the new Tata MPV might be offered with a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.5L turbo petrol engine option. While the former will deliver power close to 108bhp with 260Nm, the latter will be good for 120bhp. The same petrol unit will soon be introduced on the Harrier model lineup. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are likely to be on offer.

More details on the new Tata 7-seater MPV are likely to be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
