The Renault Kwid-based compact SUV (codenamed HBC) is one of the much-awaited upcoming new Renault cars in India, that might hit our shores towards the end of 2017. This new compact SUV will share its platform, design features and equipment with the Kwid hatchback. Powering the vehicle could be a 1000cc SCe petrol engine that is used for the new Kwid 1000cc variant. Power and torque figures of this petrol mill will stand around 67bhp and 91Nm respectively. The Kwid HBC might come with the regular 5-speed manual transmission and an Easy-R AMT gearbox.
|Expected Price||Rs 4 lakh – Rs 5.50 lakh|
|Expected Launch||End of 2017|
With an aim to tap the growing compact sedan market in India, the French carmaker is planning to introduce a sub-4 meter sedan that will be based on the Kwid’s CMF-A modular platform. Since this platform is highly localized and low-cost, we can safely say that the Renault Kwid compact sedan (LBC) will be priced quite competitively against its rivals like Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire. Similar to the Kwid compact SUV (HBC), this car will share the 1000cc SCe petrol engine and transmissions with the Kwid 1000cc.
|Expected Price||Rs 3 lakh – Rs 5 lakh|
