New Renault 7 Seater MPV

The Renault Triber 7-seater model is based on the modified Kwid’s platform.

Renault has officially announced that the new Triber, codenamed RBC will make its global debut in India on June 19, 2019. The seven-seater car will be launched in the country in July. The new model will be the crossover-MPV and is expected to sit under 4 meter in length.

The Renault Triber will be positioned above the Kwid hatchback. Likely to be priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh, the 7-seater model will directly rival the Datsun GO+ and the upcoming Maruti Wagon R 7-seater. Going by the spy images available on the internet, it is visible that the Renault Triber gets new headlight with LED daytime running lights, Renault’s signature V-shaped chrome grille, crossover-ish profile and chrome treatment on the bumper.

The Renault Triber is based on the thoroughly updated version of the CMF-A platform, which also underpins the Kwid. The new model comes with dual-tone interiors and will have functional design to offer a lot more space. The car is likely to share the features including steering wheel with the Captur. It will also get a newly developed touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This system will also get some intelligent features like driving-style coaching and driver economy rating. The vehicle will also get a dedicated ac vent for the third row of seats. The third row of seats can be removed to increase luggage carrying capacity.

In terms of safety and security, the Renault Triber will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seatbelt reminder as standard. Reverse parking camera will be offered on the top-spec model. The Renault Triber will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the Kwid. However, this engine will be tuned for higher power outputs. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit.
