Renault Plans To Launch 7-Seater SUV To Rival Safari, XUV700

French automaker, Renault will soon start working on its new range of products for the Indian market. The Renault Nissan alliance will announce 4000 crore investment and majority of the share will be used to introduce the CMF-B modular platform. This platform will be used to produce a wide range of new models for both Renault and Nissan in our market.

Renault will launch the 3rd generation Duster SUV in our market sometime in 2024-25. The new model will be designed and developed on the new CMF-B platform. This modern platform will allow Renault to offer more modern features and underpinnings. It is versatile enough to accommodate different body styles and different engine options including hybrid, plug-in hybrid and petrol. Moreover, this platform also has an electric derivative called the CMF-B EV. The new architecture will meet the existing and upcoming safety norms, and will support electrification including hybrid and EV powertrains.

Dacia Bigster Duster

Not just next-gen Duster, Renault will also launch a new 7-seater SUV based on the new CMF-B platform. The French automaker had revealed the Bigster 3-row SUV concept in early 2021. Renault has confirmed that the production version of the SUV will arrive sometime in 2024-25. Previous reports reveal that the Bigster’s production model will be offered with both ‘alternative energy’ and hybrid powertrains.

In the global markets, the new model will be priced equivalent to the likes of the Skoda Karoq and the VW Tiguan. However, the size of the SUV will make it an indirect rival to bigger SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq. In India, the Renault’s 7-seater SUV will be positioned against the Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV700. The new Bigster concept measures 4.6 meters in length. The company claims that the 3-row SUV will be a good value for money product, and will have a price tag closer to that of smaller SUVs.

Renault-Dacia Bigster Design

The original concept had an aggressive looking front fascia dominated by a full width grille. The front grille merges with the latest version of Dacia’s Y-shaped signature headlight. It comes with LED lights, which seems integrated into the grille, and a squared-off front bumper that houses a large central grille with a pair of vertical air intakes.  The side profile looks like a bigger Duster SUV, featuring flared wheel arches & large 5-spoke alloy wheels. At the back, the Bigster concept has a pair of Y-shaped tail-lights and clean tailgate that houses a large Dacia badge.
