French automaker, Renault has launched the new Kwid RXL variant with 1.0-litre petrol engine option. The new variants announced to mark Kwid’s 3.5 lakh sales milestone in India. With 98% localisation, the Renault Kwid is claimed to be the most successful ‘Make in India’ story. The Renault Kwid RXL trim is available in both manual and AMT version, priced at Rs 4.16 lakh and Rs 4.88 lakh respectively.
The RXL will be the most affordable variant in the 1.0L Kwid line-up. Earlier, the Kwid 1.0 was only available in the top-of-the-line variants. Renault believes that the aggressive pricing of the 1.0L BS6 Kwid will make the hatchback even more accessible to customers. The company is expecting increase in demand for the hatchback in the coming months.
The Renault Kwid hatchback is available in 6 exterior colour options including Zanskar Blue, Moonlight Silver, Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Electric Blue and Outback Bronze. The new Kwid RXL is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 67bhp of power and 91Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic. The Renault Kwid is also available with a 0.8-litre petrol engine that produces 53bhp and 72Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Driver-side airbag, seat-belt reminder, speed alert, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors are available as standard safety features. The top-spec model also gets rear view camera assist via sound and colour guidelines. In order to boost sales during Coronavirus Pandemic, Renault India has announced a ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ scheme. In this scheme, customers can start paying EMIs after 3 months of date of purchase. Customers can avail this scheme on purchase via dealerships, online or using My Renault application. The company is also giving discounts and other benefits to customers.
