Upcoming Renault Kwid Facelift – What We Know So Far

2019 Renault Kwid Undisguised

Renault is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited 2019 Kwid facelift, which has already been spotted multiple times. In fact, undisguised images of the range-topping Kwid Climber facelift have already hit the internet. The new Renault Kwid facelift will go on sale in the country in early October, 2019.

The Kwid facelift will be the third Renault product in our market. The company had launched the updated Duster in July and the all-new Triber in August. It is expected that the refreshed Renault Kwid will be offered in 4 variants. The hatchback will receive revised exterior design and better equipped cabin.

In terms of styling changes, the 2019 Renault Kwid facelift gets a split-headlamp setup with LED daytime running lights on top and the main headlamp lower on the bumper. The front grille and headlamp set-up design is inspired by the Renault K-ZE electric city car, which has recently been launched in the Chinese market. Other design changes include redesigned bumpers and new tail-lamps with LED elements.

The cabin of the Renault Kwid facelift will share some of the components from the Triber sub-4 meter 7-seater MPV. Features like a digital instrument console with a tachometer, steering wheel and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support will be sourced from the Triber. The Kwid Facelift will also come with structural upgrades to meet the upcoming crash test norms. Mechanically, the hatchback won’t receive any upgrades. It will be available with 2 engine options – a 54bhp, 0.8-litre and a 68bhp, 1.0-litre petrol. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. The company will upgrade these engines to BS6 specifications in early 2020. The Renault Kwid facelift will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, which is scheduled to be launched on September 30, 2019.
