Renault Kwid Facelift – Top 5 Changes

The popular entry-level Renault Kwid has finally received the much-needed makeover in India. The updated model received revised exterior design and better equipped cabin. It is available in 5 variants – Standard, RxE, RxL, RxT (O) and Climber – priced between Rs 2.83 lakh and Rs 4.84 lakh.

The hatchback is available with the same set of engines, a 0.8-litre 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre SCe 3-cylinder petrol. While the former is capable of producing 54bhp of power and 72Nm of torque, the 1.0L engine is good for 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Driver side airbag with an option of the passenger side airbag, ABS with EBD, seat-belt reminder, speed alert and rear parking sensors come as standard.

New Front Design – The 2020 Renault Kwid receives all-new front design with split headlamp set-up. The LED DRLs are placed on the top and the main headlamp is positioned lower on the bumper. The grille design is inspired by the Renault K-ZE electric city car, which was recently introduced in the Chinese market. Other design changes include re-designed bumpers, revised tail-lamps with LED elements, and new prominent 14-inch multi-spoke wheels. The Climber variant gets orange inserts on headlamp housing, ORVMs, roof rails and on the lower bumper.

8-inch Touchscreen Infotainment – The 2019 Renault Kwid gets a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support along with Video playback and voice recognition. The touch also works as a display for the optional first-in-class reverse parking camera with guidelines.

Triber-like Interior – The cabin of the Kwid facelift shares some of the components with the Triber sub-4 meter 7-seater MPV. Features like digital instrument console with a tachometer and steering wheel is sourced from the bigger sibling.

New Colour Option – The Renault Kwid facelift comes with all-new Zandkar Blue colour option. Adding to it, the hatchback is also available in 5 different paint schemes – Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, Electric Blue and Outback Bronze.

Raised ground clearance & fast charging USB port – The company has also raised the ground clearance of the Kwid facelift. It now comes with 184mm ground clearance, which is 4mm higher than the previous model. Adding to it, the hatchback has a fast-charging USB port with a power output of 2.4A, plus a 12V outlet at the rear.
