The Renault Duster turbo petrol that made its public debut at this year’s Auto Expo will go on sale by the end of August, 2020. One must note that its official launch date and details are yet to be announced by the carmaker.
Powering the new Duster will be a 1.3L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that can be had either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Nissan Kicks compact SUV.
The new turbo-petrol engine pushes out a maximum power of 153bhp and 250Nm of torque. The existing BS6 1.5L petrol motor will continue to be retailed alongside the new turbo-petrol powertrain. Minor design changes will be made on the compact SUV. The new Renault Duster turbo petrol will feature a grille with red accents and differently designed fog lamp clusters. Interior layout and features will be exactly similar to the regular model. Though, it’s likely to receive new upholstery and lots of red accents for enhancing its sporty appeal. The list of standard features will include projector headlamps, roof rails, tilt adjustable power steering, power windows, remote central locking, illuminated and cooled glovebox, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, seat belt reminder and rear parking sensors.
The higher trims will be exclusively offered with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear wash and wiper, hill start assist, cruise control, automatic climate control, electronic stability program and reverse parking camera.
The new turbo-petrol engine is likely to be offered on the mid-level and top-spec trims. Price of the Renault Duster turbo petrol variant is likely to around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
