Renault India has officially launched the highly anticipated Duster AWD variant in the Indian car market. The Duster AWD variant is priced at Rs. It will take on the likes of Scorpio 4×4 and the Tata Safari 4×4. The AWD variant of the Duster SUV will offer a go-anywhere characteristics to young enthusiasts.

The Renault Duster AWD variant largely resembles the current model range. The most noticeable changes to the exteriors of the SUV includes new ‘Anthracite’ alloy wheels in smoked grey colour, darkened headlamps, AWD badging, 4×4 moniker at the back, and matte black B-pillars. The interiors of the SUV get subtle changes to keep it fresh. It features a new three-pod instrument cluster, new three-spoke steering wheel, (dual-tone) black and grey dashboard, dual-tone grey, red seats, etc.
The majority of the upgrades are given to the mechanics of the Duster. It is equipped with a 4-wheel drive system driven by HALDEX clutch and independent rear suspension. Under the bonnet is the same 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 108bhp and 248Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to all 4-wheels via a six-speed manual transmission gearbox. Surprisingly, the Duster AWD variant is claimed to deliver an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.71kmpl which is around .71kmpl more than the 2-wheel drive version.
The Renault Duster AWD comes with a large ground clearance of 210mm and offers a turning radius of 5.2metre. It is loaded with features such as cruise control, anti-slip regulation, hill start and electronic stability program.
