Renault Duster 7-Seater (Bigster) Rendering Looks Pretty Accurate

The French automaker is planning to bring in the third-generation Renault Duster in India sometime in 2022 or 2023. Rumour has it that the company might also introduce the 7-seater version of the compact SUV that will be based on the Dacia Bigster concept. The three-row SUV concept was unveiled earlier this year. Its production-ready model could be called Dacia Grand Duster (Renault Grand Duster). As of now, there is no official word on its India launch. Globally, the Renault Duster 7-seater is likely to launch towards the end of this year or early next year.

Here’s a latest digital rendering of the upcoming 7-seater Duster previewing its possible production-ready design. Unlike the concept that has distinctive Y-shaped headlamps, the rendered model carries bigger projector units with integrated LED DRLs. The slim front grille has been replaced with a beefier one featuring Renault’s signature badge at the centre. The front bumper, fog lamp assembly and hood have also been revised.

The side profile, however, looks similar to the Bigster concept. It has body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, roof rails, black plastic cladding all around the body and alloy wheels. The rendered Renault Duster 7-seater gets completely different taillamps with mounted turn indicators. The chromed exhaust pipes are located at the lower end of the rear bumper.

The Dacia Bigster concept measures 4.6 metres in length and sits on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s CMF-B platform. The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV (global-spec) will also underpin the same architecture. Compared to its 5-seater sibling, the three-row SUV will be longer and have more cabin space.

It would be quite early to comment on its engines. In international markets, the Dacia Duster will be made available with multiple powertrains.  The SUV’s CMF-B platform is compatible to ‘alternative energy’ (such as LPG) and hybrid powertrain as well. In India, the Duster 5-seater comes with a 154bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol engine and 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options.
