Renault 4 Small Electric SUV Concept Teased; Debut On October 17

Renault is all set to revive the iconic nameplate Renault 4, which is one of its most popular cars ever produced. The entry-level hatchback was on sale in select international markets from early 1960s until the mid-1990s. The company has released new teaser images of the upcoming Renault 4 concept, which is scheduled to make global debut on October 17, 2022.

The new model will be an electric crossover and will not be offered with the combustion engine. Not just Renault 4, the French automaker will also re-introduce the 5 hatchback. However, the 4 will turn into a more adventurous vehicle to cash in on the SUV craze.

The teaser images reveal that the Renault 4 concept will come with chunky off-road tires and high suspension travel. The vehicle also has two hood tie-downs to secure roof-mounted cargo. The SUV gets illuminated side steps and a roof box, while the rear glass is likely to get a bicycle rack.

The iconic Renault 4 hatchback measured 3.66 meters in length; however, the concept is expected to be significantly larger. The concept has squared wheel arches to offer rugged look, while the trapezoidal shaped quarter glass with its illuminated contour to resemble the ancestor. The off-road concept SUV also comes with the diamond logo. The new concept will make public debut at the 2022 Paris Motor Show.

Renault is also developing two new SUVs – the third-gen Duster and the Bigster 3-row SUV. Both models will be designed and developed on Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B modular platform and will be offered with hybrid powertrains.
