RE Super Meteor 650 & New Himalayan 450 Could Debut At EICMA 2022

Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles including 3 new 650cc bikes, new Bullet 350 and the new Himalayan 450. The company had showcased the SG650 concept at the last year’s EICMA Motor Show. It is expected that RE will unveil the new Super Meteor 650 and the new Himalayan 450 at the 2022 EICMA in Milan, Italy in November 2022. However, Royal Enfield is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

The new RE Super Meteor 650 is a retro-styled cruiser motorcycle. In terms of styling, the new cruiser will get round headlamp with a non-adjustable, large windshield, chromed crash guards, alloy wheels, forward-set foot pegs, a flatter rear fender and round tail-lights and turn indicators. It will also come with a twin-pipe exhaust system. Royal Enfield will also offer several touring-friendly accessories with the bike. The new motorcycle will have a semi digital instrument console with a smaller pad for the tripper navigation.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor Features

The new RE Super Meteor 650 will share the engine and platform with the Royal Enfield’s 650 twins. It will be powered by a 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine with fuel injection technology. This engine is capable of producing 47PS of power and 52Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper and assist clutch. For suspension duties, the bike could get USD front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle will have disc brakes along with the standard dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield has also teased the new Himalayan 450 on its social media account. The new motorcycle will be based on a new platform and will be equipped with a new powertrain. The teaser shows that the new motorcycle will have a round LED headlamp and a tall windshield. Compared to the regular model, the new Himalayan 450 will have new fuel tank, front beak, exhaust and side panels.

The new RE Himalayan 450 will be powered by a 450cc engine that is likely to produce around 40bhp and 45Nm of torque. It is significantly more powerful and torqueier than the Himalayan 400cc. The current 400cc motor produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed gearbox instead of the existing 5-speed unit. The motorcycle will have USD front forks and monoshock at the rear.
