RE Concept KX Inspired Royal Enfield Classic 650 Rendered

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Rendering

We have reported earlier that Royal Enfield is working on a new 650cc scrambler motorcycle that will be more affordable than the RE Interceptor 650 and RE Continental GT 650. While details of the new Scrambler bike are still under the wraps, a digital rendering previews how Royal Enfield Classic 650 might look like. Styling of the rendered RE Classic 650 has been inspired by the Royal Enfield Concept KX 838 Bobber that broke cover at the 2018 EICMA in Milan, Italy.

The bike features round full LED headlamp and an elongated kidney-shaped fuel tank. Design bits such as large fenders, a single leather wrapped cantilever seat, long front forks and body panels are carried over from the RE Concept KX 838 Bobber. Unlike the concept that has dual-tone alloy wheels, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 gets machine-finished, monotone alloys. What further enhance its cruiser look are the tall handlebars.

Talking about the Concept KX 838, the model was equipped with an all-digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It also offers turn by turn navigation, SMS readout and call alert features. The gear position indicator has been placed over the speedometer section. The concept features a single-sided swingram and Byebre brake calipers. The Bobber measures 2160mm in length, 778mm in wide and 998mm in height. It sits on 1530mm long wheelbase and offers a seat height of 760mm.

As of now, the Chennai-based bikemaker is all set to launch the Royal Enfield Meteor 350cc motorcycle in June, 2020. Based on the new double cradle chassis, the Meteor will come as a replacement to the Thunderbird 350X. The new model features retro-styled round headlamp and taillamp with chrome bezels. Some of its design highlights include blacked out engine case, new turn indicators and circular instrument console.

Reports suggest that the RE Meteor will be powered by a new 350cc, single-cylinder engine featuring a single overhead camshaft. It will not only improve efficiency and refinement level of the bike, but reduce its emission levels. The new 350cc bike from RE is likely to come with the telescopic forks upfront and monoshock rear suspension units. The dual-channel ABS could be standard on the model lineup.

Besides launching the Metero, the company will heavily focus on mass customization of its motorcycles. The bikemaker will also bring in the new-generation model of the RE Classic 350 and Bullet 350 by the end of this year or early next year.
