Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will go on sale in India by mid 2018.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are surely one of the most-anticipated two-wheeler launches of the year. Scheduled to launch by mid 2018, the RE 650cc twins made their first public appearance at the 2017 EICMA which was followed by their India debut at the 2017 Rider Mania in Goa.

Recently, both the motorcycles were spotted in new dual-tone colour schemes at a Royal Enfield dealership in Sydney, Australia. While the Interceptor GT 650 was painted in White/Red shade, the Continental GT 650 was spotted in Black/Grey paint scheme. Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 New Colour

Prices of the Australia-spec RE 650cc twin bikes have already been announced. The Continental GT is priced at 10,400 dollars and the Interceptor 650 has been offered at 10,000 dollars. With local production, the new RE motorcycles are estimated to be priced between Rs 3.5 lakh – Rs 4 lakh in Indian market.

Powering both the middleweight motorcycles is the new 650cc parallel twin engine that was unveiled at the company’s new Technology Centre in Leicestershire, England. Royal Enfield’s Chennai based manufacturing plant serve as production hub for the new powertrain.

The bikemaker claims that the new 650cc engine has been designed to deliver right balance between power, torque and usability. RE’s new fuel-injected 650cc motor produces a top power of 47bhp at 7,100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Feeding power to wheels is a 6-speed gearbox.
