Range Rover ‘Fifty’ Limited Edition Launched; Celebrates 50 Years

The original Range Rover SUV was launched back in 1970. Renowned for its off-road capabilities and rugged styling, the model has evolved in its five decades of the lifespan. In order to commemorate its 50th anniversary, the carmaker has introduced the Range Rover Fifty limited edition with bespoke exterior and interior features. Only 1,970 units of the special edition will be sold across the world. Based on the Autobiography, the Range Rover Fifty features a ‘Fifty’ script that’s personally created by Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, Land Rover’s Chief Creative Officer.

The special edition also features bespoke exterior accents in Auric Atlas and 22-inch alloy wheels. It has been made available in four colour schemes – Santorini Black, Carpathian Grey, Aruba Silver and Rosello Red. Exterior shades such as Bahama Gold, Davos White and Tuscan Blue are reserved for a few select customers. Inside, the Range Rover Fifty gets the same Prof Gerry McGovern OBE crafted ‘Fifty’ badging on the “1 of 1970” centre console commissioning plaque, dashboard, headrests and illuminated treadplates. The limited edition will be offered with multiple engine options including petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid P400e version.

The Range Rover Fifty is being offered in regular and long wheelbase versions. The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed prices of the special edition. Though, it’s likely to be more expensive than the Range Rover Autobiography. Commenting on the launch, Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, Land Rover Chief Creative Officer, said: “In the world of luxury vehicles, the Range Rover has always stood apart as peerless and enduring. Its unique and pioneering sensibilities together with an unrivalled engineering approach have been the intrinsic values which our customers have admired since the first of the breed was revealed in 1970.”
