Tata’s Tamo RACEMO Wins German Design Award 2018

The sportscar has won this award in the Gold category for International Excellence in “Exceptional Product Design”.

Tata Motors’ Tamo Racemo sports coupe has bagged one of the most prestigious awards – the German Design Award (GDA) 2018. The sportscar has won this award in the Gold category for International Excellence in “Exceptional Product Design”. This year the jury received over 5,000 entries – 49% in the area Excellent Product Design and 51% in the area Excellent Communications Design. All awards were concluded during a two-day jury session.

First previewed at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show in March, the Racemo is India’s first two-seater sports coupe and the first product under Tata’s new sub brand – Tamo. It’s also India’s first connected car and globally developed ‘phygital’ car merging the physical and digital worlds. Designed on an innovative MO-Flex platform, the Tamo Racemo is equipped with Microsoft’s connected vehicle technologies including cloud computing, analytics, geo-spatial and mapping, and increased human-machine interface. Based on Tata’s new IMPACT design philosophy, the RACEMO features Humanity Line, Slingshot Line and Diamond DLO. The sports coupe uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine with intercooler. This motor is good for 186bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. With lightweight body built, the Racemo is claimed to attain 0-100kmph in just 6 seconds.
