Tata Motors will launch the long-awaited H5X concept based 5-seater premium SUV in the country in the first quarter of 2018. The SUV was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo and since then, it has been spotted testing multiple times. If latest media report is to be believed, the production version of the Tata H5X premium SUV will make its debut in November 2018. For people not in the known, Tata Motors is also working on a 7-seater version of this SUV. The 7-seater model will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner & Ford Endeavour.

The new Tata H5X is based on the new Omega platform, which is basically the modified version of the Discovery Sport platform. The H5X premium SUV will be the brand’s first product to feature the company’s new IMPACT 2.0 Design language. The company confirms that the production-spec model will carry over 80% of the concept design, which has aggressive and bold face. Upfront is a high-mounted LED headlamps and a more prominent 3-dimensional ‘Humanity Line’ that underlines the headlamps and front grille, tri-arrow pattern fog lamps, chunky clamshell-like hood and large air-vents. The concept measures around 4.5 meter in length, which makes it a direct rival to the Jeep Compass. However, media reports claim that the SUV could be priced competitively. Tata Motors had launched the Hexa and Nexon compact SUV last year. Both models received excellent response from car buyers. With the new SUV, the company aims to further enhance its market share. Besides H5X, Tata will launch a 5-seater premium hatchback based on the 45X concept in India in 2019. Adding to it, Tata Motors is also working on a mid-sized sedan to take on the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
