The production version of the Kia SP SUV concept was recently caught on camera during its test rounds in South Korea. The carmaker had confirmed that its first product in India will be a compact SUV based on the SP concept, which was previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo. Though the name of the SUV hasn’t been yet announced yet, it is reported to be christened Kia Tusker (based on the number of votes).
Kia SP (Tusker) will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. Scheduled to launch in 2019, the first Kia SUV will be stacked up against the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur/Duster. Price of the vehicle is likely to fall in the range of Rs 11 lakh – Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
