The production version of the Kia SP SUV concept was recently caught on camera during its test rounds in South Korea. Kia SP (Tusker) will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. Scheduled to launch in 2019, the first Kia SUV will be stacked up against the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur/Duster. Price of the vehicle is likely to fall in the range of Rs 11 lakh – Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).

Under the hood, the Kia SP (Kia Tusker) is likely to house an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms. The oil burner makes power worth 115bhp against 250Nm of torque. Reports suggest that Kia will also introduce an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine that will be compatible to a hybrid drivetrain from 2023 onwards. The SUV will come with both manual and automatic transmission options.
