The slowdown in the Indian auto market has also impacted the Asia’s biggest auto show – Auto Expo 2020. Several popular car and bike makers have decided to not take part in the upcoming event. Though, a number of new automakers will be taking part at the biennial event.
If media reports are to be believed, two wheeler and 4-wheeler makers including Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Royal Enfield, Honda Cars, BMW, Toyota, JLD and Audi have decided to miss the Auto Expo 2020. Adding to it, FCA-owned Jeep and Ford Motor Company will also not showcase their future cars at the Auto event. Nissan and Honda two wheeler is yet to make a final decision on their participation at the event.
Seeing the slowdown and reducing sales, automakers are looking at reducing spending on promotional things and have opted out of the expo. However, brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors will take part in the upcoming biennial event.
Volkswagen and Skoda will also showcase their future cars at the Auto Expo 2020. Renault and Mercedes-Benz are others to join the biennial event. At least 3 new automakers – Kia Motors, MG Motors and the China’s Great Wall Motors will showcase their cars at the Auto Expo 2020. French auto giant, Citroen could also take part at the event.
Volkswagen and Skoda will showcase their future product range at the Auto Expo 2020. While Volkswagen will unveil the India-spec T-Cross and the next-gen Vento, Skoda is likely to showcase the Kamiq compact SUV, Karoq and the next generation Rapid sedan.
