We earlier reported you that Land Rover has set the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California for the global debut of the fastest and most powerful Range Rover Sport SVR, and viola, it finally made its much anticipated world premiere at this glorious event yesterday. Reportedly, it would be launching in India around Q2 2015 with a price around 95 Lakhs.
Under the hood, the Range Rover Sport SVR has a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that churns out the best ever 550PS of power and 680Nm of torque. This impeccable engine propels this SUV to achieve the 100kmph barrier from standstill in a mere 5 seconds while clocking a top speed of 260kmph. Additionally, it’s Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 8 minutes 14 seconds is one of the fastest times ever recorded by a production SUV – underline its performance credentials. The first Land Rover vehicle to wear the new high-performance SVR badge from Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division, the Range Rover Sport SVR is the most dynamically focused vehicle Land Rover has ever produced.
An advanced ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive chassis have been optimized to complement its astonishing performance, whatever the weather. In another first for Range Rover, unique 22-inch alloy wheels with performance-optimised 295/40 R22 Continental SportContact 5 tyres complement the driver-focused chassis. As standard, new 21-inch alloy wheels with 275/45 R21 all-season tyres offer unparalleled all-terrain capability. John Edwards, Managing Director of Land Rover’s Special Operations, said: “The Range Rover Sport SVR is a natural progression beyond the core vehicle’s outstanding on- and off-road capabilities and leading-edge design. It’s exhilarating performance will satisfy a particularly demanding customer set.” The massive SUV will go on sale in October and first deliveries will be from early 2015.
