Over 8000 Bookings For MG Hector In 10 Days of Reopening
MG Motor India resumed bookings for the Hector SUV with the beginning of the Navratri festival – i.e. on 29th September, 2019. Within 10 days of it, the company has received over 8,000 pre-orders for the vehicle.
The bookings have been opened for a limited time period. Aiming to ensure on time delivery and meet the increasing demand, the British carmaker will begin the second shift at its Halol facility in Gujarat from the next month.
Besides resuming the order books, the carmaker increased prices of the Hector by 2.5 per cent (depending on the variant). The SUV was launched in the price range of Rs 12.18 lakh – Rs 16.88 lakh. After the price hike, the MG Hector comes at a starting price of Rs 12.48 lakh that goes up to Rs 17.28 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
In September 2019, the MG Hector recorded its highest every monthly sales of 2608 units. In the very first month of its arrival, the SUV registered total sales of 1508 units that increased to 2018 units In August, 2019. The carmaker has managed to sell over 5000 units of the MG Hector so far.
Talking about MG Motor India’s future plant, the British carmaker is ready to bring in its second product in India – MG eZS. The electric SUV will see a release early next and put up against the Hyundai Kona. The company will also introduce a 6-seater version of the Hector that might debut at the 2020 Auto Expo in February.
