Over 6,500 All-New Hyundai Creta Dispatched In March

Hyundai India recently launched the second-generation Creta in the country. Priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, the compact SUV comes in 14 variants and five trims – E, EX, S, SX and SX (O). In month of March, the Korean carmaker has dispatched 6,706 units of the new Creta to its dealerships across the nation. Deliveries of the new Hyundai Creta were commenced from 21st March and Shah Rukh Khan was the first person to take it home.  

Usually, the carmaker sells over 10,000 units of the Creta on monthly basis. Due to a nationwide lockdown, however, its March’s sales figures were relatively low. The 2020 Hyundai Creta petrol variants are priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh and the diesel models cost from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

The SUV’s brand new model comes with an all-new design, several segment-first features and three BS6-compliant engine options. Talking about powertrains, the new Creta is available with two petrol motors – a 1.5L naturally aspirated and a 1.4L turbo GDI – delivering power worth 113bhp with 144Nm and 138bhp with 242Nm respectively. The diesel models are powered by a 1.5L VGT unit generating a peak power of 113bhp with 250Nm of torque.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. While the 1.5L petrol comes with the optional iVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) automatic transmission, the 1.5L oil burner has an optional torque convertor automatic gearbox. The 1.4L turbo-petrol model is exclusively offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Feature-wise, the next-generation Creta is loaded with lots of goodies including electronic parking brake with auto hold (segment-first), smart panoramic sunroof, BlueLink connected car technology with voice commands, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, touch-enabled air purifier, 3 driving modes, digital instrument console, paddle shifters and one-touch cruise control and remote start.
