Over 4 Lakh TVS NTorq 125 Scooter Sold In India
TVS NTorq, India’s first connected scooter, has achieved a new sales milestone in the country. The Chennai-based two-wheeler maker has managed to sell over 4 lakh units of the NTorq so far. The flagship 125cc scooter crossed 1 lakh sales mark in just months of its arrival and 3.5 lakh sales milestone by September 2019.
From August to November 2019, the TVS NTorq maintained consistent monthly sales of over 20,000 units. In this duration, the company sold over 1 lakh units of the scooter making it the second highest selling 125cc in the country.
In September 2019, TVS Motor Company rolled out the TVS NTorq Race Edition with new LED headlamp and DRLs. It also gets new colour schemes including matte black, metallic black and metallic red. The new edition features race-style decals on the front apron and body panels.
Powering the TVS NTorq 125 is a 124.8 cc, single-cylinder engine pushing out a maximum power of 9.4bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. It’s the first scooter in its segment to offer Bluetooth connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation on the digital instrument console, call alerts and SMS.
The company will upgrade the TVS NTorq 125 to meet the upcoming Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission norms that will come into effect from 1st April, 2020. The scooter might also receive minor design updates and new features. With the upgrade, it’s likely to get expensive nearly by Rs 6,000 – Rs 7,000.
