Over 2950 Toyota Glanza Sold In September – Highest Ever Monthly Sales
Toyota Glanza, the first product of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership, went on sale at an introductory price of Rs 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In September, the premium hatchback clocked its highest ever monthly sales of 2,952 units. Maruti Suzuki has supplied a cumulative 11,577 units of the Baleno to the Japanese carmaker so far.
The re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza comes in two variants – G and V – with both manual and CVT gearbox options. Powering the Toyota Glanza is a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre K12N engine with and without mild-hybrid technology. While G trim gets the mild hybrid powertrain generating power worth 89bhp with 113Nm, the V trim without mild hybrid system delivers 82bhp with 113Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT.
As per a latest media report, Toyota will soon increase prices of the Glanza hatchback. The carline will also receive a new variant that will sit between the existing G MT base trim. The new model, however, will be devoid of the dual battery setup.
Toyota will also bring in the re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV, Ertiga MPV and Ciaz mid-size sedan. All three re-badged models will receive minor design and feature changes.
