Over 200 Units Of Mahindra Alturas Shipped Within 6 Days Of Its Launch
Within 6 days of its launch, Mahindra has shipped 216 units of the Alturas to its dealerships.
Mahindra Alturas G4, the flagship 7-seater SUV from the home-grown carmaker, marked its debut on 24th November in the Indian market. Within 6 days of its launch, the company has shipped 216 units of the fully fledged SUV to its dealerships. The official deliveries of the vehicle have been commenced on 8th December, 2018.
The Alturas has been retailed via special zones ‘World of SUVs’ created in the existing Mahindra dealerships. Priced at Rs 26.95 lakh, the Mahindra Alturas G4 undercuts the Toyota Fortuner that comes at a starting price of Rs 27.27 lakh. In November 2018, the Toyota Fortuner registered total sales of 1,475 units and the Ford Endeavour recorded sales of 433 units. One of Alturas’s competitors, the Skoda Kodiaq clocked total sales of 127 units. Compared to November 2017, these three SUVs witnessed sales fall by 35%, 21% and 52% respectively. Mahindra Alturas G4, the re-badged SsangYong Rexton, comes with a 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The oil burner delivers a peak power of 178bhp at 4,400rpm against a maximum torque of 420Nm at 1,600rpm-2,600rpm. Compared to the Fortuner, the Mahindra Alturas G4 is 55mm longer and 45mm wider. It’s the only SUV in its league to offer 9 airbags (top-spec trim only).
