Over 1.7 Lakh Units Of Tata Tiago Sold In India

Tata Motors tasted huge success with the Tiago hatchback when it was launch in 2016. It’s been two years now, and the vehicle continues to generate volume for the home-grown carmaker. The Tata Tiago crossed 1 lakh cumulative booking milestone in October, 2017. In August 2018, the hatchback registered its highest monthly sales of 9,277 units as compared to 7,036 units of the same month last year, accounting 32 percent growth.
Recently, the automaker introduced the cross-hatch version of the Tiago – the Tata Tiago NRG. At the launch, the company confirmed that it has sold over 1.7 lakh units of the Tiago hatchback so far. Available with both petrol and diesel engines, the Tiago carline is currently available in the price range of Rs 3.39 lakh – Rs 6.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

While the entry-level petrol model costs Rs 3.39 lakh, the range-topping variant is priced at Rs 5.63 lakh. Prices of the diesel version start from Rs 4.20 lakh and go up to Rs 6.04 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). Further expanding the Tiago lineup, the carmaker had introduced the XZA AMT and XTA AMT variants. The company also launched the Tata Tiago Wizz special edition in September, 2017.
Soon we will see the performance-oriented version of the Tiago – the Tata Tiago JTP. According to media reports, the company is also working on the new-generation Tiago that will be based on the new Alfa (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture). The vehicle is likely to see comprehensive design and feature upgrades.
Currently, the Tata Tiago comes with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and the 1.0t-litre Revotorq diesel engines paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The gasoline unit delivers 83.8bhp with 114Nm, the oil burner produces 69.04bhp with 140Nm.
